Les Brown Quote

I love this famous quote I just learned:

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will still land among the stars.

The idea of this is the importance of setting at least one “wildly impossible” goal. Having a goal like that helps maintain your energy toward all of your more attainable goals.

Do you have a wildly impossible goal? What would it be?

  1. Perhaps because I am a woman who doesn’t appreciate nor embrace risk, the idea of a ‘wildly impossible goal’, or a dream, completely eludes me. Tending toward that which is doable and safe is more my style. But, I am nonetheless inspired by those who dream big.

    • Hi Donna, Thanks for your response. I would roughly place people into two categories: Those who know what they are about and are already living it, and those who are still trying to figure it all out. You clearly fall into the first group and so does Merrilyn. I, on the other hand, have rarely felt that I have been living my dream nor have I had a clear idea of what my dream is. There have been seasons when I thought I was doing what I was “supposed” to do, and sometimes that felt like I was truly living my dream. But I never figured out how to handle change, so the idea of living to my potential has been elusive. I’m still trying to figure it all out, but the important thing for me is to not stop searching. Reminds me of a U2 song.
